NBA Insider Teases Unreleased Footage of the Tyler Herro-Bam Adebayo Vegas Altercation
Former Miami Heat teammates Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo managed to steal the spotlight at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas without even touching a basketball. Following a heated exchange of words over social media comments, Adebayo reportedly struck Herro in the face at a practice court inside a Vegas hotel.
Now, it appears the entire incident might have been caught on camera.
The Missing Footage
On Monday, NBA insider Tim MacMahon suggested that a surveillance video of the altercation not only exists but is currently being kept under wraps.
MacMahon claimed he hopes the footage eventually makes its way to the public, even jokingly suggesting the Heat organization could find a creative use for it down the road.
“I hope that surveillance video will be seen,” MacMahon said. “Maybe it could be part of the tribute video when Tyler Herro returns.”
Echoes of Green and Poole
MacMahon wrapped up his segment by comparing the Herro-Adebayo clash to the infamous practice facility altercation between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole on the Golden State Warriors. However, there is one glaring difference in this situation: Herro and Adebayo were no longer teammates when the punch was thrown.
Herro, who spent the first seven seasons of his career in South Beach, had already been shipped to the Milwaukee Bucks as the centerpiece of the blockbuster trade that brought Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami.
Two Stars Moving Forward
Despite the off-court drama, both players are looking to bounce back on the hardwood this season.
Herro is seeking a fresh start in Milwaukee. The 26-year-old former All-Star was severely limited last year, appearing in just 33 games due to a frustrating string of injuries.
Meanwhile, Adebayo is gearing up for his 10th NBA season as the undisputed anchor of the Heat’s defense. The nine-year veteran is coming off another stellar campaign, averaging 20.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. Now paired with Antetokounmpo, Adebayo’s focus will shift back toward bringing another championship to Miami.
